Angeles Girl Scout Council

"Building girls of courage, confidence, and character,

who make the world a better place."

Girl
Scout Achievements
Girl
Scouts is an achievement-oriented, values-based
national membership organization. Girls are encouraged to progress through age-appropriate
skills-building and awareness activities by caring adult role models and
are recognized for their efforts.
Every achievement
of every Girl Scout  is a reason to celebrate
in our community.

Girl Scout achievement recognition begins when a girl makes
the Girl Scout Promise and agrees to live by the Girl Scout Law. Then, she joins
with her "sister" Girl Scouts around the corner, across the nation and around
the world to develop the "courage, character and commitment to make the world
a better place" …!

Girl Scout Gold Award The Girl Scout Gold Award is the highest achievement award given by Girl Scouts of the USA for members ages 14-18 years. Someone once described the Girl Scout Gold Award as being "what you really want to be remembered for" in Girl Scouting.

In the multi-year, seven-step process, each Girl Scout undertakes a detailed assessment of her capacities and interests, including leadership and organizational skills, higher education and/or career goals.

The Gold Award is the 21st Century equivalent of the original "Golden Eaglet" created and awarded by our movement's founder, Juliette "Daisy" Lowe. Attainment commands significant national and local recognition for the girl and for everyone who has contributed to her Girl Scout "career"!

We're extremely honored by the achievements of our Gold Awardees. Click here for more information on the Gold Award program and the significant accomplishments by Angeles Council's awardees'.

    Girl Scout Silver
Award   Earning the Girl Scout Silver Award symbolizes an 11- to
14-year-old Girl Scout's accomplishments in Girl Scouting and community activities
as she matures and works to better her life and the lives of others.
Girl Scout Bronze
Award   The Girl Scout Bronze Award recognizes that a Junior Girl
Scout has gained the leadership and planning skills required to follow through
with a project that makes a positive difference in her community.

Angeles Girl Scout Council's Adult Volunteer Recognition  Girl Scout
Adult Volunteers also make the Girl
Scout Promise and agree to live by the Girl
Scout Law. Among the over 6000 women and men who are registered and active
in Angeles Council, we annually salute those special individuals, as well as community
organizations and civic groups who have made significant contributions to Girl
Scouts in our region. Click
here for a recent list of awardees, including Spirit Award, Thanks Badge,
Thanks Badge II, Outstanding Leader, Community, Family, Outstanding Neighborhood
