Adult Volunteer Development Training
Girl Scout Adult Volunteers
are the #1 influence in helping to build girls of courage,
confidence and character! Girl Scouts of the USA’s top priority is to
deliver “high-quality leadership experiences for all girls.” To
do so, within the unique GSUSA model of the Girl-Adult Partnership,
is to provide adults with the best training. Angeles Girl Scout Council
recruits, screens, trains, and supports a strong network of over 6,000
adults serving over 770 Girl Scout Troops in 28 Girl Scout Neighborhoods,
our Board of Directors and its Committees, and Program Committees and
Training.

Adult volunteer training
opportunities provide hands-on experiences in real-life situations in child
development, group management and planning. The council conducts over 170 unique
training courses each year, in addition to the annual Leaders' Conference
full of enrichment workshops, with 23 trainers, including 8 Master Trainers
and 4 Instructors of Training. New Trainers are always welcome! The
training program is ongoing throughout the year and is available at
convenient times and locations within AGSC's
geographic jurisdiction. Please note
that our Training Marathon condenses many
required and optional courses into one weekend’s time.

To maximize our
volunteers’ training time, we’ve added options to our training
curricula. We’re bringing it closer to you, reducing the length of
classroom time, and making it more self-paced! New course options will be
added soon, so stay in touch with your Neighborhood Service Team to know
what’s happening in your area.
