Frequently Asked Questions
Do
I have what it takes?
Of
course! No matter what your interests, age, or amount of time you can
offer, Girl Scouts needs your help to provide opportunities for girls to
grow strong.
Will
my help make a difference?
Girl
Scouts exist for girls, but it
exists because of
volunteers. By giving your time and
talent, you can help girls build character and skills for success in the
real world.
I don’t have a daughter in Girl
Scouts—can I volunteer?
You don’t have to have a
daughter or any other female relative in Girl Scouts to volunteer. There are many girls who need adult
support and guidance.
What can I do?
No experience is necessary and
training is provided whether you choose to work with girls, work with
adults, reach out to the community, coordinate a service project, serve on
a committee, lead a workshop, provide administrative assistance, or
whatever interest you have.
How much support will I have?
Tons! In Girl Scouts, you are
never alone. We provide all volunteers with training, handbooks, resources
and the experience of others to support you in your efforts.
Do
I have to wear a uniform?
No, a uniform is not required
for membership in Girl Scouts. There
is a wide choice of uniform components available if a girl or adult member
would like to show Girls Scout pride.
